HOT OFF THE PRESS UPDATE!

 It is a pleasure and honor to announce the upcoming attendance of Dr. Molly Bachtel during our CCC UAPRN dinner meeting tomorrow night!  Please enjoy her brief bio listed below and bring all your questions you may have to the dinner meeting, as she is an endless resource of knowledge. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Chapter to have one on one time with her and to soak up her legislative knowledge!

Molly Bachtel, DNP, FNP-C has clinical practice in the Fast Track area of the CHOA Hughes Spalding ED and also works with FNP students in their clinical courses at Emory University. She has a background serving as UAPRN State Secretary 2004-2006 and started the Atlanta Chapter of UAPRN in 2004.

In 2015, Dr. Bachtel became active with the Coalition of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (CAPRN) organization and has coordinated legislative advocacy and development programs for APRNs, including the “APRN of the Day Program” at the Georgia State Capital.  Website for short video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbuSxzExRbQ

She is hoping to engage many more APRNs to get involved legislatively as Georgia aims to remove barriers to APRN practice and become a Full Practice Authority State.

As a member of Georgia Nurses Association (GNA), Dr. Bachtel, continues participation in GNA’s Legislative Committee and the Georgia Nursing Leadership Coalition (GNLC) APRN. She continues her involvement in conference calls lead by Dr. Lucy Marion, Dean and Professor of the School of Nursing at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
